You’ve been considering a rebrand, but you aren’t sure if your business is ready just yet. You probably have many questions and you want to. know for sure. So.. how do you know when you’re business is ready.
I’m sharing my top 5 signs your business is ready to rebrand. First, let’s cover what a brand is:
I bet you’ve heard, “Your brand is more than just your logo,” before no matter where you are in your business journey. And it’s true, your brand is far more than a logo, a color palette, or anything visual. Your brand is how your business makes other people feel.
Marty Neumeier said, “Your brand isn’t what you say it is. It’s what they say it is.” They (your audience) gain a feeling from your visuals, website, marketing efforts, the customer experience… the list goes on and on!
Take a moment to think of your favorite store or coffee shop, maybe Anthropologie or Dutch Bros. What comes to mind when you think of them? Can your picture colors, smells, displays, packaging or store layout? What tone of voice do their emails use? How do you feel when you shop there? What do you tell others about this business?
Now, just because your business isn’t a major retailer or know nationally, doesn’t mean you need custom brand design. Even if you have a DIY logo and a basic Shopify, you have a brand! How you engage with people on instagram, your email marketing, customer experience all contribute to your brand. A custom logo doesn’t make or break your brand. So, don’t worry if you aren’t able to make the investment to rebrand, your business can still be successful.
Let’s get to it!
If you see any of these signs in your business, it might be time to rebrand your business. Investing in brand design is a major decision, and one you should only make when your business is ready.
Let’s get one thing straight, there is different branding solutions for every stage of business. As you are starting out and building a new business, a template from Etsy or a logo you made on Canva are great to help begin your brand visuals. A brand is a living thing and needs to be constantly evolving as your business grows. Your first draft is not the final project. Your business is ready for a rebrand if you want to take a step-up from DIY to made for you.
Brand design is a great way to distinguish your brand from others. When your brand visuals look the same as everyone in your industry, what is going to make them choose your brand in a split second? Brand design gives potential customers an insight into your business and the experience you provide. Studies show people form an opinion on branded visuals in 17 milliseconds! Your brand should grab the attention of your ideal customers and keep them long enough to share why they should work with your business. Take a look other brands in your industry, what does their color palette looks like? The font in logo? Is there a sea of similar visuals? Time to rebrand!
Is your brand working as hard as you are to attract your dream clients? If you have been working your butt off to market your business and your dream clients are no where to be found, your brand may not be speaking to your dream audience. During a brand design project, we’ll dive deep into who your dream audience is, what they need and desire, and what the type of design they like. Making sure your brand is speaking to the right people is a key solution custom brand design can solve.
You’ve been in business for a while and things are good, but you want to work with higher end clients and your brand doesn’t fit the bill. This is a great opportunity to rebrand your business to appeal to the clients you want to attract or the products you want to sell. Through custom brand design, you can take a look at your customer’s journey and see the places you can elevate their experience. From business cards to letterhead, a custom brand design can help your business appeal to your dream audience.
Your business story is the most powerful asset for your brand. When you know your brand story and can communicate it to your customers through branded touchpoints, your business has the keystone to becoming an experiential brand. If your current brand visuals no longer align with the vision of your business, brand strategy will help you find your true north and ensure your branding follows.
